Aster manufactures a diverse range of speciality products that primarily focus on high-performance chemicals and lubricants tailored for various industries.
Group 1 base oils are paraffinic base oils with a low aromatic content, good oxidation stability and high viscosity and temperature behavior, manufactured via the solvent extraction process. Base oils are used as a blending component in a wide range of lubricants. Aster produces quality Group 1 base oils that is used for lubricant formulation. We also have the flexibility to tailor the base oils according to requirements.
Slack wax is a complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained from a petroleum fraction by solvent crystallisation (solvent dewaxing). It consists predominantly of saturated straight and branched chain hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly greater than C20. Slack wax is commonly used in applications such as coating of products and candle production.
Deasphalted cylinder oil (DACO) is a high viscosity aromatic process oil extracted from residual oil fraction. It can be used in applications such as extender oils in rubber and black printing ink formulations.
Elemental sulphur is a yellow, non-metallic element primarily used in the production of sulfuric acid and fertilisers. Additionally, sulphur is used in industrial applications such as rubber vulcanisation, pharmaceuticals, and as a fungicide, offering versatility across many sectors.
Bitumen is a black, viscous substance derived from crude oil, commonly used in road construction and asphalt production. Bitumen is also utilised in waterproofing, roofing and industrial applications due to its strong adhesive properties and resilience. It provides durability, water resistance, and weather protection, making it ideal for creating long-lasting road surfaces and infrastructure. Aster produces varying high-quality bitumen that is used regionally in various countries subject to local specifications.
